Well, here's the moment you've heard about and we've strived to create! We'd like to introduce you to the Manor Farm Collection. This blog has been written with the patterns in alphabetical order, and we've tried to include something for everyone, whether young, old, new to knitting or really experienced. We hope there is something to whet your appetite and get those needles clicking. All designs will be available on the website from Thursday the 10th of October as well as on our stand at Alexandra Palace Knitting and Stitching Show.
The leaf motif is also echoed in several smaller designs. Florence, the leaf cowl uses the same shaping technique as Maddie and is an ideal project if you want to practice the stitch pattern before embarking on the bigger project. Eloise, the circular shawl has beautiful climbing leaves along the outside and a cute and simplistic flower design in the middle making a simple shape a stunning accessory. If you would like to learn how to knit leaves but want to start small, Aoki the leaf headband is ideal for you. At only a 1 ball kit, it is the ideal, low cost project to learn with. We would recommend you have a basic knowledge of knitting before starting to knit the headband.
As a beginner knitter we have plenty of great options for you in this collection. Darcey the Chunky snood and Alfie, the chunky hat are two fantastically easy and fast projects; the hat only a 1 ball kit and the snood 2. Both are suitable for novice knitters wanting to use their basic knitting knowledge to create stylish and useful pieces. If you are a beginner but feel ready to knit slightly bigger pieces, Persephone, the cardigan, Dottie Dress and Chelsea, the cropped waistcoat are ideal for you. Persephone is knitted in one piece and includes very little sewing up.
Hero worshippers - the boot cuffs that is - will love Coco, this wonderful hat compliments Hero perfectly and is an equally stylish accessory on its own.
Esme is another show stopper - a fantastically beautiful cable knit jumper which comes in two sizes and finally two designs by Tracy, Purdy the Opera Gloves and Juno the Lace Knit Cardigan.
So we are very proud to present our 2013 Collection:-
ALFIE: A quick and fun project to make, Alfie is a great way to practice using bigger needles and a scrumptiously chunky yarn. Suitable for men or women, Alfie is knitted in the round and designed to be slouchy rather than beanie.
AOKI Headband: A great way to practice knitting embossed motifs. This is a perfect kit for a novice knitter who is starting to experiment with more advanced techniques.
CHELSEA: a cropped waistcoat which can be worn in a couple of ways that each create a cosy and stylish garment. The close fitting and textured back is complemented by the triangular folding drapes at the front.
COCO: A beautiful fitted hat with fantastic lace knit detail. It not only makes a great addition to any wardrobe, but also compliments the Hero Boot cuffs perfectly.
DARCEY: A great way to experiment with thicker yarn, big needles and a textured pattern; Darcey can be worn around the neck or over the head becoming a definite 'must-have' for those who live in colder climates with the lazy winds that go straight through you!
DOTTIE: A simple, elegant, easy to make dress with two-tone features at the elbow and a frilled hem. The option of a pocket adds a sophisticated touch and is great for keeping your mobile and lipstick handy!
ELOISE: A beautiful, soft and feminine garment which can be worn over the head (like a scarf), protecting your ears without flattening your hair,
or our favourite, across the shoulders creating a loose cowl effect at the front.
ESME: A statement piece of our new collection! A stunningly beautiful jumper with cable knit detail, gorgeous shaping, flattering neckline and long sleeves. The pleated hem is emphasized with textured panels creating simple sophistication and an hourglass figure and the neckline is enhanced further with a wonderful fold-back collar.
As you can see, we struggled to find a favourite image of this one - just stunning!
So good in fact, Esme also has a sleeveless version on the same pattern!
FLORENCE: A beautifully shaped, roll-necked cowl combining a leaf motif with eyelet rib. This detailing creates a statement whilst keeping your neck, throat and upper chest really cosy and warm.
JUNO: A stunning lace knit cardigan with tie front and pointed back culminating in a small lace edged collar. The dramatic sleeves come past the wrist finishing with pointed detail on the back of the hand. This one was designed by Tracy, she hopes you like it!
MADDIE: Another statement piece! This exquisitely shaped design has a fabulously full and swirly skirt. The dress has half length sleeves, a round neckline and drop waisted skirt. The leaf motif is the feature of this design and it carries through from the skirt to an emblem on the sleeves and cluster on the back.
PERSEPHONE: A delightful cardigan with textured stripes, 3/4 length sleeves and button front. The classic shape is instantly enhanced with the fabulous elongated hem which creates a panel detail at the front and gathered skirt effect at the back.
PURDY: Exceptionally pretty and different fingerless gloves which can be made in two lengths as both are on the pattern. Knitted in an easy lace pattern, the gloves are anchored with a loop around the middle finger, and are significantly enhanced by unusual rib and the frilled edging. (Yes, another one by Tracy).
Look forward to seeing your comments, but in the meantime, must dash to get more stuff ready for Alexandra Palace and The Knitting and Stitching Show - Stand G32 - See you there?
